Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

HHW is generated from products that we regularly use in our homes, gardens, and garages. If not handled and disposed of properly, HHW can cause problems for us and the environment. These hazardous products have the potential to poison, corrode, explode or ignite due to their chemical make-up.

Example of HHW include:

  • Automotive Care ProductsThe Depot
  • Workshop/Hobby Waste
  • Home Maintenance Products
  • Lawn & Garden Products
  • Oil-base Paints & Stains
  • Personal Care Products
  • Products Containing Mercury

The DEPOT is a permanent location that was constructed to help residents properly dispose of HHW. The DEPOT is open six times a year. Residents are encouraged to reduce and reuse items that would be considered HHW prior to bringing the items to the DEPOT.

Residents must have a valid permit and must fill out and submit a reservation form (You must call for an appointment time) prior to the day of the HHW drop-off at the DEPOT.
