Buying a Recycling Bin

Additional and replacement bins may be purchased from the Solid Waste Management Division (SWMD) office during regular business hours. These 18-gallon green plastic bins are sold for a fee.

Alternative Curbside Bins

Residents have the option of using recycling collection receptacles other than the County designated bin.

• Receptacles must be no larger than 40 gallons in size and weigh no more than 40 pounds when full.
• Receptacles must be clearly marked with an "R". Premanent marker or leftover paint can be used, and "R" stickers are available at the SWMD office at no cost.
• Recyclable containers can be placed in a bin with a lid.
• Recyclable paper can be placed in paper bags, a reusable cardboard box, or a recycling bin.
• Do not put recyclables in plastic bags or cover recycling bins with tarps.
